The compilations record the high, low and closing price of this average, as well as of the group of seventy industrial issues and thirty railroad issues which go to make up the composite average of one hundred stocks. The table covers every business day since January, 2, 1925 (through Dec. 30, 1933), during which period occurred the major part of the bull market, the serious deflation of October, November, 1929, the recovery of approximately 50 per cent of that deflation during the first four months of 1930, and then the long decline during the balance of 1930 and 1931 which was broken only by small rallies."
