Book Description: The American Statistical Association / The American Economic Association, Chicago, IL, 1929. Soft cover. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Saddle Stitch, White paper wrappers with black title to cover, states that is was REPRINTED September 16, 1929, but the date above (December 27, 1928) seems to suggest that Mr. Rose's original address may have been that date and not the original publication date. Please make you're own determination regarding this reprint vs. original publishing date. I did confirm that there was an annual meeting on the December 27, 1928 date.
Book Condition: Good, this booklet was found among some newspaper clippings from 1925 and 1926 and the newspapers caused some staining to the to the front and back covers (see photos), otherwise pages are free of marks, no rips, no tears.
Contents: This 16 page booklet contains the address given by author Dwight C. Rose (of Scudder, Stevens & Clark, Investment Counsel) at the Joint Annual Meeting of The American Statistical Association and The American Economic Association on December 27, 1928. Mr. Rose lays out his arguments about why the market was a very unfavorable place to invest at the current levels, but also went on to argue statistically at stock market investment in general based on the prior decade or so. (In addition to the booklet, I will also include a few clipped newspaper articles from 1925 and 1926 that I originally found with this title). Extremely Scarce, 8 pages. Collectible.
