Book Condition:
Good, spine slightly cocked, but not slanted, some bumping to corners, some wear to spine extremes, very slightest dampstain to front endpapers near bottom spine extreme, spine faded, endpapers and pages tanned but otherwise free of marks, small area on back boards where cloth has separated from boards. No Dust Jacket.

Contents:
This is the second volume of the unfinished trilogy (The Octopus, The Pit, The Wolf) tells of the distribution of American wheat through dealings in Chicago's infamous "Wheat Pit." The story is based on Joseph Leiter's attempt to corner the wheat market in 1897-98. The 1909 Short film directed by D.W. Griffith, A Corner in Wheat, is based on this book. Norris died in 1902 at age 32 shortly after completion of this novel. Good First Edition reading copy of this "Wheat" classic. 421 Pages.
